Repurposing Wood Logs & Tree Trunks
November 17, 2011
Attention folks, it’s fireplace season. And nothing says “all I want to do is lay by a fire” except a stack of wood logs. Below are some ideas for making those logs look seamless year round, and ways to give a tree trunk roots indoors.
Wood Hook via Design*Sponge, Log Crayons via Sweetie Pie Pumpkin Noodle, Colored Logs via Decor 8, Log and Trunk Dining Room via Desire to Inspire
Trunk Seats via Apenthus, Log Handrail via Poppytalk, Anthropologie Display by Pia Jane Bjikerk
Tree Trunk Side Table by The Elizabeth Element, Silver Ghost Chair (log chair) via Etsy, Wood Foot via Hindsvik

I like the inspiration. I have been thinking about tree limbs and trunks lately. I haven’t decided exactly what I want to do but now I have more ideas!
I had this idea that I’d use a tree branch as a curtain rod. Unfortunately it’s hard to procure a a tree limb in NYC, even living a few blocks away from a park. Also, the branch tore apart pretty quickly. But next storm, I’ll be on the lookout for fallen branches! Be sure to send in pics if you end up doing a tree trunk/limb project – Would love to see what you come up with!
